Apply for the New Students@SC Data Science Competition

Who Should Apply
The Data Science Competition is open to students meeting the following criteria:
- Undergraduates and first-year graduate students of any major and/or discipline
- Students who have an interest in solving important problems using data
- Teams of 4-5 students (apply solo, or as a team)
- Students local to the St. Louis area are encouraged to apply (you will work on an issue local to this area)
Timing & Execution
Data Science Competition teams participate remotely. Teams will be provided with hands-on workshops instructing them on cloud usage and other topics to help set them up for success. Once everyone is up to speed, the competition will begin:
- Phase 1 | October 30–31: Competition-determined dataset and problem area
- Phase 2 | November 6–7: Self-driven projects
- Final Phase: Teams projects are presented and judges select winners
Bonuses Provided
- Competitors will receive Technical Program and Workshops registration
- Competitors will have access to all Students@SC social and networking opportunities during the competition and conference
