Klaus Steiniger is a postdoctoral researcher in the Computational Radiation Physics group of the Laser Particle Acceleration division at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf. He is maintainer of the open-source, particle-in-cell code PIConGPU which he also actively develops. His development work focuses on novel methods for the particle-in-cell algorithm. To his research interests further belong novel geometries for compact X-ray sources and free-electron lasers, laser plasma based particle accelerators, as well as shaping, transport and characterization of
high-power laser pulses.
