Biography
Jack Wells is NVIDIA's Science Program Manager, working to align the NVIDIA platform with scientific requirements for breakthrough results. Jack joins NVIDIA following 23 years of service to the US DOE's ORNL where he was part of the team that delivered in succession three world-leading supercomputers in support of the US DOE Office of Science Mission, serving as Director of Science of the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility for 8 years. For a two-year assignment, Jack served as Legislative Fellow in the Office of US Senator Lamar Alexander (TN) in Washington DC. Jack holds a BS in physics from Centre College, MS and PhD degrees in physics from Vanderbilt University, and enjoyed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics prior to joining ORNL. Jack currently services at the chair of the Division of Computational Physics of the American Physical Society and as president of the OpenACC Organization.
