Biography
Ryan E. Grant is a Principal Member of Technical Staff and the scalable interconnects team lead in the Center for Computing Research at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. His research focuses on high performance networking for Extreme scale systems, including proposing multiple new SmartNIC designs at SC17 and SC19. He leads the Portals Networking API specifications group and actively contributes to the MPI specification where he serves as a chapter chair. He has won numerous awards for his research including several best paper awards and an R&D100 award. He graduated with a PhD in Computer Engineering in 2012 from Queen’s University, Canada, where he was an Alexander Graham Bell Canada Research Scholar.
