Jiacheng Ma received his BSc from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) with interests in operating systems, high performance computing, system security, and deep learning. He has diverse experience in different topics. He started undergraduate research by working on a distributed system for privacy-preserving big data mining systems at HKU. He then worked and studied in the Prescience Lab at Northwestern University, exploring low-level kernel development. He also worked in deep learning research for a year at Huawei's Noah's Ark Lab, including on lossless compression systems, adversarial attacks, and network pruning. He is now employed as a quant researcher and has his own startup. He is actively looking for a position in a top quality Ph.D. program for computer systems research.
