Alex Davies leads the production engineering team at Jump Trading, which is responsible for building awesome research and trading infrastructure for hundreds of Jump's quantitative researchers. Alex has been with Jump for 10 years and seen the enormous increase in cutting edge quant research and growth of ever larger internal HPC systems. Before Jump he worked as a SRE in firms with high traffic websites, and published several books on MySQL clustering and scalability. When not building supercomputers and other awesome infrastructure for Jump, Alex volunteers as an EMT in the UK.
