Dr. Jianyuan Xiao is an Associate Researcher at the University of Science and Technology of China. His main research interests are geometrical structure preserving algorithms and their application on large scale parallel simulation of various physics systems. He is also interested in implementing high performance parallel programs on modern heterogeneous clusters with high portability using the DSL technique. The SymPIC code, created by him, is such an example. It is a particle-in-cell program designed for long-term simulations of the Vlasov-Maxwell system and scales well on various heterogeneous many-core CPU and GPU supercomputers.
