DescriptionWe are looking for an energetic and driven Applied Mathematician to focus on improvements in new, innovative, and unpublished numerical methods developed by you and other team members. You will participate in the Agile development process with a cross functional team that ranges from Operations Research, Software-as-a-Service, all the way down to the GPU layer. You will be joining an environment that encourages intellectual curiosity, creative discourse, collaborative autonomy and challenging yourself and the status quo. You will be collaborating with colleagues who are highly intelligent, curious and ambitious engineers, and who want to work with and learn from other high-caliber individuals.
Job Functions:
-Work with our Senior Algorithm Engineer to research techniques to advance our competitive advantages based on unique algorithmic characteristics
-Develop computational methods for solving problems that occur in the application of our algorithms
-Develop mathematical or statistical models of phenomena to be used for analysis or for computational simulation.
-Analyze data to identify trends or relationships among variables
-Maintain knowledge in the field by reading professional journals, talking with other mathematicians, and attending professional conferences
-Present research results to others
-Perform computations and apply methods of numerical analysis to data
-Agile team responsibilities (grooming stories, point estimation, retrospectives, etc.)

Requirements-Masters in Applied Mathematics or related field
-Solid in any of the following (with willingness to learning others)
-Linear algebra
-Operations Research (including Mixed Integer Programming, Interior Point Method, etc.)
-Numerical analysis
-Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems
-Strong communication, documentation and collaboration skills
