DescriptionA new exascale-ready software framework is proposed, for physical modeling of EM signals with the flexibility for additional physics coupling, targeted at current and next-generation microelectronic devices. This new platform will offer (i) an algorithmically agile, open-source software framework amenable to customization of existing algorithms and incorporation of new physics and (ii) effective scalability on leadership class GPU/multicore supercomputing architectures that will provide orders-of-magnitude speedup over existing capabilities. Our efforts will leverage the extensive software and algorithmic expertise developed in collaboration with the Exascale Computing Project (ECP) Co-Design Center, AMReX, and related AMReX-based applications. A preliminary demonstration of a Maxwell-micromagnetics module is presented, showing agreements of our simulation to both theories and experiments. The work we are proposing will allow us to offer an enhanced simulation capability for existing industrial, academic, and laboratory consumers, as well as reach into new energy-efficient application spaces with the incorporation of new physics, enabling improved design of future devices.
