Biography
I am Atanu Barai. Currently, I am doing my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at New Mexico State University, NM, USA. My research is on Performance Prediction Toolkit which involves modeling and performance prediction of Large-Scale Hardware to run Physics computation codes. Currently, I am working on performance prediction of multithreaded programs on multicore machines using reuse distance analysis.

Previously I was a Senior Software Engineer at Samsung R&D Institute, Bangladesh for about four years. I did my undergraduate in Computer Science and Engineering department of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (www.kuet.ac.bd), Bangladesh.

As part of my job responsibility at Samsung, I mostly worked on Electronic System Level (ESL) design, verification and performance analysis of custom SoC platforms, porting of various RTOS in different virtual platforms and modeling custom IPs for performance enhancement. My major roles in different projects include cycle-accurate and function accurate component modeling like cache, bus, DMA, shared command queue, tightly coupled memory of a multicore digital signal processor for simulation and system programming which varies from kernel modification to firmware and device driver development for different ARM processor-based platforms. I have to use several tools like ARM SoC Designer, ARM Fastmodel and Synopsis Chess, boards like Xilinx Zynq, Raspberry Pi and libraries like SystemC.

I goal is to build my career in the field of computer architecture.
