Biography
Mr. Ralph A. McEldowney is the Associate Director for Networking for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP). In this role he is responsible for the operation, engineering and security of the Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN). DREN is the DoD’s high performance wide area network supporting research, test and engineering by connecting nearly 200 DoD locations across the U.S. with the HPCMP’s supercomputing resources. Mr. McEldowney has supported the HPCMP for over 25 years in multiple roles, including the last nine years as the Associate Director for Networking. He has also supported the SC Conference as a committee member in various roles since 1999, including as the SC18 General Chair in 2018, and continues to support the SC Conference community today.
