Sheikh Ghafoor is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Tennessee Technological University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Mississippi State University in 2007. His primary research includes Parallel and Distributed Computing, High-Performance Computing. His current research is programming model, frameworks, and tools for Heterogeneous High-Performance Computing Environment, dense linear algebra libraries for machine learning applications. Dr. Ghafoor is also very interested and actively engaged in research in the area of computer science education. Dr. Ghafoor has been principal investigators and investigator on grants from the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, NASA, and other agencies.
