Valentin Churavy

Biography
Valentin Churavy is a Ph.D. student in computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, working on programming languages and systems for heterogeneous computing. His goal is to enable scientists to effectively and effortlessly take advantage of accelerated computing. Notable projects include: the Julia programming language and its GPU compiler stack, the Enzyme differentiation engine for low-level virtual machines, and the ClimateMachine climate model. Valentin received his B.S. in cognitive science from the University of Osnabrueck, Germany, and his M.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
