Duncan Roweth

Biography
Duncan Roweth is a Distinguished Technologist in the HPC & AI CTO office at HPE. Duncan has a Ph.D in “Parallel Algorithms for Lattice QCD” from the University of Edinburgh. He also holds a Master of Advanced Study in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and a first-class honours degree in Mathematical Physics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. He is a key contributor to the Slingshot program, working on development of the second and third generation networks. At Cray, Duncan provided technical leadership on the Slingshot NIC and switch ASICs. He was a lead investigator in Cray’s exascale design projects for the U.S. Department of Energy. Before joining Cray, Duncan was a founder of the UK-based networking company Quadrics. He has worked in HPC systems and networking for over 30 years.
