Biography
Jon Rood holds a Ph.D. in Computational Science from South Dakota State University since May 2012. He has worked on performance acceleration of NASA instrument analysis applications using high performance computing (HPC) techniques while at Tech-X Corporation, bioinformatics applications while at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, weather and climate applications while at ETH Zürich, and currently wind farm and combustion applications at the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Jon's primary interests are in application performance engineering, parallel programming, software quality, and performance portability.
