Biography
A principal member of technical staff in the Scalable System Software Group (01423) at Sandia National Laboratories, Kurt's research interests include the design and construction of operating systems and runtimes for massively parallel systems and system-software level fault-tolerance mechanisms for extreme-scale. Kurt received his BS in mathematics and BS in computer science in 2000 from New Mexico Tech and his MS in computer science in 2008 and PhD in computer science in 2011 from the University of New Mexico. In addition to his position at Sandia, Kurt holds a Research Associate Professor appointment in the Department of Computer Science at the University of New Mexico, where he actively collaborates with UNM faculty, staff, and students.
