Biography
George Ostrouchov is a Senior Research Staff Member in the Mathematics in Computation Section of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He is also a Joint Faculty Professor in the Business Analytics and Statistics Department at the University of Tennessee. He is elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and an Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). His research is centered on the interaction between statistics and supercomputing. He currently leads the pbdR project, a set of highly scalable R packages for distributed and parallel computing and profiling in data science. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Statistics from Iowa State University obtained after a B.Math. degree from the University of Waterloo.
