Shaikh Arifuzzaman

Biography
Shaikh M. Arifuzzaman is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of New Orleans (UNO), USA. At UNO, Dr. Arifuzzaman directs the big data and scalable computing research group. Dr. Arifuzzaman's research interests are in algorithmic foundations of large-scale computing, data science at scale, applied machine learning (ML), and high-performance computing (HPC). His work emphasizes the computational/algorithmic foundations of transdisciplinary problems by developing scalable algorithmic methods, HPC techniques, and ML models.
Dr. Arifuzzaman received a Ph.D. in computer science from Virginia Tech specializing in parallel algorithms and high-performance scalable computing. Dr. Arifuzzaman also worked as a summer researcher at Sandia National Laboratories (Livermore, CA) and as a visiting faculty with the Computational Research Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
