Biography
Xuehai Qian is an assistant professor at the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Computer Science (by courtesy) at the University of Southern California (USC). He has a Ph.D. from the Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and completed a postdoc at University of California Berkeley. He leads ALCHEM (http://alchem.usc.edu): Architecture Lab for Creative High-performance Energy-efficient Machines. His current research interests include system and domain-specific architecture for graph processing, machine learning and other emerging applications. He is a senior member of IEEE and has been induced into all “Hall of Fame” lists of top computer architecture conferences, including ASPLOS, HPCA, MICRO, ISCA, and Computer Architecture Top-tier (CAT). He is the recipient of W.J Poppelbaum Memorial Award at UIUC, NSF CRII and CAREER Award, and the inaugural ACSIC (American Chinese Scholar In Computing) Rising Star Award.
