John E. Stone

Biography
John E. Stone is a Senior Research Programmer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests include molecular and scientific visualization, GPU computing, parallel computing, ray tracing, and immersive visualization. Mr. Stone was inducted as an NVIDIA CUDA Fellow in 2010, and in 2017 he was awarded as an IBM Champion for Power. In 2020, Mr. Stone was a co-recipient of the ACM Gordon Bell Special Prize for High Performance Computing-Based COVID-19 Research. He is a member of the Khronos ANARI Working Group and Vulkan Advisory Panel, ACM, SIGGRAPH, and the IEEE.
