Dr. Gordon Brebner is a Xilinx Fellow in the CTO Office. He contributes to corporate vision and strategy, while leading an international research group in Xilinx Labs investigating novel forms of programmability in high-performance, low-latency, secure, and trustworthy communication networks and computing architectures, and translating results into successful products with an emphasis on ease of use through a particular focus on domain-specific languages and architectures. Most recently, this has led to the Xilinx P4-programmable SmartNIC products. Gordon worked at the University of Edinburgh until moving to Silicon Valley in 2002, and has a continuing connection as Honorary Professor of Informatics at the university.
