Biography
I am a postdoctoral research associate in the Advanced Data and Workflow Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. My research interests include high performance computing, applied machine learning, cloud computing, Internet of Things, distributed systems, distributed file systems, and big data APIs. My current research focus at ORNL is to find I/O performance bottlenecks in HPC AI applications and apply AI technologies to optimize I/O for large-scale HPC systems.

I recently completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Virginia Tech advised by Dr. Ali R. Butt. My Ph.D. has been greatly impacted by three summer internships - Argonne National Laboratory in 2017 under the mentorship of Dr. Ian Foster, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 2018 under the guidance of Dr. Kathryn Mohror, and Cray Inc. in 2019 where I learned the industry aspects of HPC storage under the guidance of Cory Sptiz and Nathan Rutman.

Apart from research, I enjoy playing and watching cricket. I love listening to songs and writing poems. I take active participation in 10k (best time - 58:33) and half marathon (best time - 2:13:04) runs. At Virginia Tech, I also served as the President of Bengali Students’ Association for the term 2017-18. I believe that a happy and balanced lifestyle yields positive research.
