E. Wes Bethel is a Senior Computer Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he is Group Leader for the Data Analytics and Visualization Group/Machine Learning and Analytics Group in the Computational Research Division. His research interests include high performance computing, data science, scientific visualization, image analysis and computer vision. He is an ACM Distinguished Scientist, a Research Affiliate at the Berkeley Institute for Data Science (UC Berkeley), and an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at San Francisco State University. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from UC Davis, and the MS and BS in Computer Science from the University of Tulsa.
