Get to Know These First-Time Exhibitors at SC21

exhibitors

Throughout the past year we’ve shared stories about the many ways that high performance computing is expanding beyond scientific and academic communities to inform other industries, help unlock new discoveries and solve tough challenges. With this growth, we’ve also seen a number of new organizations join our community – eager to display their advanced technologies in the SC21 exhibit hall.
Currently, 170 of the world’s leading vendors, research organizations and universities are exhibiting in St. Louis this year, including several organizations showcasing their products, solutions and services for the first time at SC21.

You won’t want to miss these new exhibitors to learn more about their contributions to HPC. Here is a brief look at some of the exhibitors who will be making their conference debut at SC21.

LightOn

Booth #2614

A Paris-based startup, LightOn produces unique photonic hardware and attendant optimized software which are redefining computing for some of today’s largest challenges in AI and HPC.

LightOn’s photonic computing hardware natively handles randomized algorithms for HPC at unprecedented scale, enabling information-revealing “sketches” for computation in the compressed domain – an essential function as we enter the era of extreme-scale models.

SC21 attendees will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of the LightOn Appliance, the world’s first commercial photonic co-processor for AI and HPC, powered by Optical Processing Unit (OPU) technology. Based on an efficient use of HPC hardware, LightOn also develops optimized training pipelines for « extreme-scale » GPT3-like AI models. With a simple API to access the models, in several languages and endpoints, this technology lowers the economic and technical barriers to entry to transformative AI for small and large businesses, worldwide.

CXL™ Consortium

Booth #1607

Industry leaders and major computer vendors comprise the CXL™ Consortium, an industry standards body dedicated to advancing Compute Express Link™ (CXL) technology. CXL is a high-speed interconnect offering coherency and memory semantics using high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity between the host processor and devices such as accelerators, memory buffers, and smart I/O devices.

The CXL Consortium exists to support the growing demand for emerging applications in AI and ML, as the data center industry moves towards a more disaggregated model to allow for greater flexibility, higher performance and lower cost of ownership.

At SC21, representatives of the consortium will provide overviews of its work supporting the industry, describe potential use cases, showcase technology demos, offer insights into specifications and technical working groups, and answer any questions. Also, the CXL Consortium will host a Birds of a Feather session on the future of HPC with panelists from the Gen-Z Consortium™ and the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA).

TRUMPF Photonic Components is a global technology leader, supplying VCSEL and photodiode solutions for data centers and high performance computers, consumer electronics, industrial sensing and heating markets. To date, more than two billion VCSEL chips and photodiodes has been shipped worldwide.

For 20 years, the company – a division of TRUMPF Group, a family-owned high-technology company that offers production solutions in the machine tool and laser sectors – has developed VCSEL and photodiodes, which are key components in fiber optic links used in a variety of supercomputing connections. Its innovative solutions are helping lower power consumption and cost while improving performance.

SC21 attendees will have the opportunity to get a comprehensive overview of the TRUMPF Photonic Components product portfolio and its roadmap for future development.

Ingrasys

Booth #127

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Foxconn Industrial Internet, Ingrasys is a leading cloud infrastructure provider with a global footprint. The company offers advanced solutions for HPC, hyper-converged infrastructure and edge compute, as well as AI and ML applications.

In collaboration with leading chip vendors, Ingrasys designs and manufactures compute and storage appliances for HPC communities, and also provides comprehensive HPC cloud platforms with different scopes of service for end users. Ingrasys offers ODM/OEM services across a wide array of applications, including board level, system level, rack level, container and data center integration.

At SC21, Ingrasys will demonstrate several of its cutting-edge products including edge computing equipment, enterprise/OCP servers, ORV3 racks, advanced cooling technology, and a turnkey HPC application platform.

Founded in 2014 with the goal to develop practical, real-world applications of deep learning and other advanced technologies, Preferred Networks Inc. (PFN) focuses on the use of deep learning in a range of domains including transportation, manufacturing, healthcare, materials science and entertainment.

To support its vast in-house deep learning workloads, PFN has developed its own computing infrastructure including the MN-Core™ deep learning accelerator and MN-Core-powered MN-3 supercomputer.

PFN will introduce some advanced features of its MN-Core accelerator at SC21, and will showcase applications powered by its MN-Core-based computing infrastructure. The company will also detail the MN-Core future roadmap.
